A call for applications for appointment as a Queen's Counsel is normally announced in March/April each year, with the appointments being announced in time for the start of the new legal year in September.

An independent report into the process is usually published at the same time.

Details, application forms and a Guide for Applicants will be posted on the Judiciary of Scotland website, and the Society of Solicitor Advocates will advise its members when the announcement is made.

For further information see the Guide for Applicants (amended March 2011).
