Bankruptcy (Scotland) Act 2016

The Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) is consulting on draft regulations in advance of the coming into force of the Bankruptcy (Scotland) Act 2016 on 30th November 2016.

The Act, which was passed by the Scottish Parliament in March, is a consolidation Act, capturing all of the amendments made to the primary legislation governing bankruptcy in Scotland - the Bankruptcy (Scotland) Act 1985 - as well as new laws brought in since, including the Bankruptcy and Debt Advice (Scotland) Act 2014, which came into force in April 2015.

Comments on the draft regulations, which will support the operation of the new Act, should be submitted by 31st August 2016.
