The Society of Solicitor Advocates is a voluntary organisation that works to support Scottish solicitor advocates. In particular we:

  • promote and represent the interests of solicitor advocates

  • promote the highest standard of professional competence and conduct

  • promote high ethical standards

  • promote and further the continuing education of members

  • coordinate and facilitate communication and cooperation amongst solicitor advocates

  • uphold the honour and dignity of the profession of the law

  • promote the administration of justice for the public good

  • promote and advance the development of the Law of Scotland

We are not a regulatory body - the Law Society of Scotland is the regulatory body for all Scottish solicitors, including solicitor advocates - and we do not represent solicitor advocates from England and Wales. The interests of English and Welsh solicitor advocates are looked after by the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates (SAHCA).
