Membership

Membership of the Society of Solicitor Advocates is open to all solicitor advocates in Scotland who have gained extended rights of audience in the civil, criminal and indeed both courts. At the moment we have around 220 members.

We are a voluntary association of solicitor advocates. Regulation of solicitor advocates is carried out by the Law Society of Scotland.

The cost of membership is currently £50 per year for solicitor advocates in the public sector and £100 for everyone else. We also offer newly admitted solicitor advocates free membership for the first year.
